Not so recent news anymore but I'm surprised I haven't seen this out yet, considering protection is the same as always. Consider this a wake-up call for its providers.

    Info at: http://www.maxwellrender.com/latest-release/

The only thing that looked strange was the denoiser. I disabled GPU and it failed trying to use OpenCL for it. I have an old OpenCL card but why did it pick it up? I got to read the manual I suppose...

If anybody uses one of my old RLM floating licenses for any product and needs this in a hurry, contact me at my email.
Or just wait for any number of people to release it. It shouldn't take long.

    :)

Besides GPU being in diapers, my problem seems to be the OpenCL level support. Mine is at 1.0 in hardware and 1.2 with drivers.
The denoiser probably requires something more recent.
When the mention CPU for the denoiser, they mean OpenCL in CPU and not vanilla CPU.
At least skipping the denoiser saves me some time in rendering.

Updated to 4.1.1.1. A few more "1"s and it will be a tongue twister.
Info at the URL posted above. No changelog in the installation folder.

Still the same protection as always.
No Maya 2018 support yet and OpenCL has to be recent enough.

If only they made available the plugins by themselves instead of packaging them with the Renderer installer. Half a gig instead of 5-6 MB!!!

In the scene below, I run Fire and Viewport Render for 2 minutes each.
I expected Fire to be a bit better but it has some jaggies and doesn't look better than the viewport render. Either that, or my screen is too dirty.

It looks like they put the watermark on the can itself :)

On the good news side, Maxwell Render v4.1.1.1 works fine with the new Cinema 4D R19. I used the Maxwell plugin 4.1.8 for C4D R18).
