ppl with slow sim time need to disable their av... if not buy a super computer with 50 cores lol
    or simply decrease grid. :)

why The old release 2.2 was very fast, why?? gpu speed work very fast with vray 3.5, dont have probleme, but of this version phoenix fd 3.04 1 days for caclucalte 400 frame,in numa nodes i have Node 0 "12 processors" and Node 1 "12 processors" is is good config .bi-Xeon with gtx 1080p msi ovecloked .. other soft work very fast no slow problem.

nice rig... i only have core i5 and i should say that pheonixfd is using only 50 percent of cpu usage. anyways u need to vheck the grid resolution for both v2 and v3 for proper comparison.

3d sims in general are slow just like rendering. but realflow is much better and faster !
Why not u move to realflow 10.1 instead ? you'll benefit from opencl and cuda in it !

You can have all the processor cores/threads you want, in reality, if you check the documentation, PhoenixFD is not bothered. Your processor SPEED is the most important part. Also make sure you have a fast SSD for Phoenix to use, as they say, it reads and writes a huge amount of data, so a slow drive can mean a very slow sim.. Finally your GPU is actually not of much use apart from the preview, it's not used for simulation, as far as I know. So having a fantastic graphics card, doesn't really help much for simulation.

I've tried version 3 and yes it's slow... and for that matter so is Realflow depending on your setup. I'm still waiting for the release of this one

I have a feeling it's going to blow them both out of the water (pardon the pun)

nothing is showing for my 3ds max 2018?
even trial version is not showing up after install !
installation was fine with no errors, plugin is placed in the right folders but when open 3ds max 2018 there is no Phoenix FD panel or tape?

That's because you installed the vray edition. No vray on 2018 yet.
Uninstall it and install again using the defscan edition.

Not sure this is totally correct and nowhere else does it mention, that the GPU is used for anything but GPU accelerated previews, possibly whoever wrote the article, got confused, misheard what they actually said, whatever.. but PhoenixFD, is, at least for now, far as I can see from the OFFICIAL documentation, uses GPU for previews, which saves you wasting a lot of time doing a full render, which uses the CPU.
