Between Sony Vegas, Pinnacle Studio, Premiere Pro, AVID (all for PC and with no pro setup) which would you recommend using...are there any unique things that one does over the other?

Try them, see which one or two or three, have want you want and use that one or those two or three. What people want to do , what kind of result they are after, differs far too much for any one person to say which they recommend. If you simply want to edit a video, cut, trim, fade, add text etc, then they all have what you need. If you don't know what it is you actually want to do with video, then you just have to try them all and see which one takes you fancy.

I had been using Filmora, it was great for me, I am a noobie to video editing. I can't find my Filmora so I am seeing what else is out there!Very basic, very easy to use so that I don't overwhelm myself and get frustrated!

stick with one you are using, wont take long till you master it. Youtube will have tutorials to get you familiar with the layout and how to use it.

Because i used photoshop long ago, when i decided to try video editing, and after trying moviemaker and finding out it can't do what i want(mixing videos with alpha channel, resizing, placement, audio mixing), i decided to try premiere.
It is good, and can do everything i want.
Then i decided to look for something free that can do more or less as much as a pro video editor. Does something like that exist ?
And you know what software it is that was revealed to me ?

    The ONE of course XD
Blender video sequence editor is just great! It has everything i need.
