yes I agree with you, but in large lighting projects you need to have a lot of files and many IES.... ;)

Can I ask a question here... how many members here, are lighting specialists..Not specialists in lighting a scene in max/maya etc... but specialists in lighting. and lighting ALONE.. Remember that most IES files are totally free. So I wonder if one of them would even bother to come here to grab you 5000.. when they probably already have access to a library far larger than they need. Since most of the data they require, which is far and above just ies and low res models, is 99.9999% freely available..

So hands up all of those members who have been or are involved in large scale lighting setups.. AND been asked to produce visuals of that setup, in 3D.. I am asking this, because I have seen many thousands of IES files uploaded here before. and I am wondering just how many of them you really need.. and for that matter, that you can find easily, just from the description of the light fitting(s) being used

    Be honest

To me, i dont need a Dialux or time eating shits... if i could tweak the beauty of the model, i can use the so-called "abundantly useless" ies manufacturer files provided for the models, i wont care about errors but some little satisfaction of something in my mind..
