Corona Renderer for 3ds Max is now available with many new features to this CPU-based un(biased) photorealistic renderer. Render times can be reduced by as much as 50 to 70% thanks to the new denoising capability, which is based on the 3D scene information and not just a 2D post-process effect, while adaptive rendering further reduces noise and grain in renders. Corona now also efficiently handles scenes with more than 255 lights.

Corona for Autodesk 3ds Max has received its biggest update ever, with dozens of useful new features and tools, plus a fresh lick of paint and a new name: Chaos Corona.
New features in Corona 8 for 3ds Max and Cinema 4D include:
    - Chaos Cosmos - Instant content for your scenes, at no charge, accessible within your 3D software.
    - Chaos Scatter - Add rocks, plants, and other details to your scene with ease.

    - Corona Slicer - Create easy cutaways that can be animated, which are faster, more forgiving on topology, and have none of the instability of geometry-based booleans.
    - Corona Curvature map - Add dirt or wear-and-tear to objects with ease.
    - Cryptomatte support - Make post-processing easier than ever.
    - Customisable Tone Mapping in the VFB - More realistic results with greater customization options, as you can now create your own customisable stack of tone mapping controls.
    - Adjustable PBR reflection tail - Even more realistic materials allowing for "softer" reflections without the blurriness of Roughness/Glossiness.
    - Caustics Include/Exclude control.
    - Plus much, much more . . .

Chaos Coronais a modern high-performance (un)biased photorealistic renderer, available for Autodesk 3ds Max, MAXON Cinema 4D, and as a standalone application.
The development of Chaos Corona started back in 2009 as a solo student project of Ondřej Karlík at Czech Technical University in Prague. Corona has since evolved to a full-time commercial project, after Ondřej established a company together with the former CG artist Adam Hotový, and Jaroslav Křivánek, associate professor and researcher at Charles University in Prague. In August 2017, the company became part of Chaos Group, allowing for further expansion and growth. Despite its young age, Corona Renderer has become a production-ready renderer capable of creating high-quality results.
Boost your 3ds Max and Cinema 4D render workflows with more tools and features than ever before, including Chaos Cosmos and Scatter, plus Corona Decal and Slicer. Corona for 3ds Max and Cinema 4D has just received its biggest update ever, with dozens of useful new features and tools, plus a fresh lick of paint and a new name: Chaos Corona.

Does anyone have problem with 3ds max loading(CoronaMaxXXXX.dlr) times with Corona 8? In compare with corona 7, loading time is decently longer, especially with restarted PC for the first launch, for me, which is usual, because files are not cached. I'm not even be talking about that every version of corona, starting from 1.7 is rendering more slower, but of course new functions is there, so we have to choose.

There is not a real delay with CoronaMax20xx.dlr. It's just a fluke.
    Corona loads fast enough.

It just happens that the loading message stays there until it's overridden by the next plugin that loads properly.

In addition, after Corona (in Max 2023) and in parallel with it, a whole bunch of support Max utilities load up (they don't write a message when they do).
You get messages only from "valid" plugins loading from any of the Max's Plugins folder(s).

It gets worse if the following plugin to load is not cracked or ready to run. It wastes time trying to validate itself (network access etc.) and until it gives up and the next valid plugin comes up, Corona looks like the one to blame for the delay.

I get a delay too and in my case it's the Ornatrix plugin I haven't bothered working on. Once I rename its suffix so it doesn't load, most of the delay is gone.
It could be any other plugin of course.
