    I noticed the same error, but the plugin "seems" to work despite that

    It's an easy fix.. Look in the 3dsmax root directory and you wil probably find TWO folders

    They look identical, depending on the font used


    UI_In
    UI_ln

    but the are different, the first uses a capital i, the second uses and lower case L.

    Locate the fgp_logo.jog and copy it from the one it is in, to the other one

    Run furguides Painter in Max and no more errors

    thanks andy47.i use a max2020 and i have just one UI_In and a ui folder.
    this is my installation proces:
    i drag the mse into max,it says no license;
    so i drag the licMaker into max and generate the lic.then i drag the mse and i see the error message.
    buti think i cannot install this.if i want to use this plugin,i must again drag the mse into the max window.
    i know it is perhaps because i should copy something into somewhere,there's no suggestions for me,therefor there's no fgp or something in maX folder.
    perhaps when this plugin was programmed,the 2020max was not yet out;(

    They could have picked some other letters for this UI_xy folder.
    The proper folder is UI_ln (lower case L).
    And in there you have subfolders \Icons and \IconsDark. Normally you copy the icons in both unless you have different sets for each case.

    I did a modified set that you just copy and merge the included folders into Max's main folder. No need for a keygen. Start Max and use it.

    I only tried it in Max 2020 and the plugin might not be 100% compatible.
    Following their video, I get a script error: Runtime error: Not creatable: Normalize_Spl
    It works after that but without creating spline knots the result might not look too good.

    Normalize_Spl (Normalize Spline Modifier) is in Maxscrpt but why it complains I don't know. Maybe parameter passing has changed in 2020.
    Leave it for later and maybe somebody will figure it out or a more recent version will appear.

    same password as above.

    You either replace with it the script in the first archive and reinstall, or just override the one already installed under Max 2020's \scripts folder.
    The script error I mentioned above has disappeared but no idea if there are any more.

    Only thing you are missing when you get the fgp_logo.jpg error, is the not so great logo at the top of the dialog box, but rather than have to click ok on the error dialog every time, I just too a look and viola, I have two very similar named Ux_xx folders, so found it in one and move it to the other. Can't say where it goes in Max 2020, as I've said many times, I don't have it and I am very unlikely to ever want it. They had a UI that worked for years, why they had to mess with a working product, I have no idea.

    Most of you know by now, I'm a fan of sticking with what works for you, and Max 2014 is my thing, I seriously doubt that had I constantly switched from one platform to another, jack of all trades master of none, I wouldn't be where I am right now. Yes of course I update stuff like Forest Pack Railcone, Pro, V-Ray etc, because for me they really do get better with age, not that iToo are that old, but (and this is my opinion and you are all welcome to disagree) when it comes to Max, I've not really seen a vast improvement right up to 2020 (the most pointless of updates so far). Sure they say things like Wbut it's got new this and that" and Wthey've fixed a lot of stuffW (most of which means nothing to me) or "it has countless features, many of which the majority of users will hardly ever use".. So here I am , sticking with 2014 and loving every project I do with it.

    If that day ever comes, when as I said before, the big players stop supporting it, then maybe I'll jump up a level or two.. but I serioulsy doubt the day will ever come, where I need to jump as high as Max 2020. By then I shall be very, very old or even dead :) Oh well gotta go, looks like we have another report to sort out
