New version out and along with it their updated C4D plugin that now supports R23.

Remember to exclude the C4D plugin that comes with the main installer. Afterwards install the C4D plugin using its own installer. You'll get a more recent version this way (currently 4.4.13.1).

    Protection hasn't changed.

Changelogs since the last version I posted about:

    4.4.13 - 4.4.14
    * Fixed non-interactive Indigo (indigo console etc..) not exiting when an error occurs.
    * Fixed resuming rendering from IGI while using bucket rendering not working properly.
    * Fixed bug where if the extension is not appended to the image save path, indigo gui does not save the image (only happened on linux)
    * Made it so that tonemapping/imaging (in particular denoising) can be cancelled part way through.
    * Fixed UI lockup when updating layer thumbnails in UI while denoising is taking place.
    * On tonemapping, imaging changes etc.., tonemap without denoising initially, then tonemap with denoising 2 seconds later.
Makes changing tonemapping etc.. much more responsive when denoising is enabled.
    * MLT: checking if optimise for denoise or bucket rendering is enabled to give error about bucket rendering
    * Improved licensing dialog, in particular the online licensing tab.
    * Improved speed of grabbing online licence
    * Updated Qt version
    * Fixed thread affinity error when rendering with more threads than logical cores.
    * Fixed issue with setting thread affinity when the number of CPUs in a group is 64.
    * Improved handling of base env spectrum with GPU rendering.
    * Fixed sun+env map blends working incorrectly on the GPU in some cases.
    * Changed way rendering speed is calculated, always works off last pass speed now, instead of overall speed since the start of render for non-bucket rendering.
    * Lots of UI improvements 'under the hood'.
    * Fixed clipping of text in dock widget titles in dark theme, other theme improvements.
    * First entry in theme drop-down box in options dialog on Mac is now "platform appearance" - uses system appearance to decide between light and dark themes.

    4.4.12
    * Added trace_through_trans_mats_for_channels render setting, true by default.
    * Fixes spectral output to work with MLT properly.
    * Scaling RGB preview of spectral render channels so they match the usual RGB rendering.

    --------------

    Similarly for the C4D plugin:

    Indigo for Cinema 4D 4.4.13.1
    -----------------------------
    * Fixed crash on certain meshes.
    * Render Settings light layer UI always updates when num layers changed.
    * R20+: Open materials and light tags also update their layer selection dropdowns.
    * R23: Added basic support for C4D scene nodes.

    Indigo for Cinema 4D 4.4.13
    ---------------------------
    * Updated to Indigo 4.4.13 SDK.
    * R23 support.

    Indigo for Cinema 4D 4.4.12.1
    -----------------------------
    * Instead of making the material preview solid grey in IPR, copy the cached preview image and draw a white dot on it to indicate it was skipped and will be re-rendered.
    * Fixed bidir checkbox not being checked in IPR window.
    * Checking for changes to material displacement (currently Indigo will trigger a full rebuild).
    * Added option to allow indigo subdiv for IPR.
    * IPR dialog now draws safe frame with transparent rectangles (R21+).
    * IPR dialog now refreshes immediately (whenever possible).
    * Various IPR improvements.
    * Indigo: fixed bidir IPR artifacts.

    Indigo for Cinema 4D 4.4.12
    ---------------------------
    * Fixed background material changes not updating background settings.
    * Fixed emission and base emission checkboxes not updating material.
    * IPR default is now bidir.
    * IPR uses super sampling if mlt is off.
    * Faster mesh processing.
    * Faster scanning of the scnene for changes.
    * General optimisations for IPR.
    * Faster updates for viewport IPR when moving camera.
    * Viewport IPR now redraws on a timer.
    * Updated Indigo sdk version to 4.4.12.
    * Indigo: Updating camera node is much faster.
    * Indigo: Now allows changing of subres when using cpu bucket rendering.
    * Indigo: Updating many nodes is not extremely slow.

Standalone and C4D plugin running together on a miserable laptop:

Some more updates with the 4.4.15 RC.
No plugins have been updated but the current ones work just as fine.
    And no protection changes either.

For the ones who want to exercise their hardware, there has been an update to their benchmark executable too that you can download from their site.

    Changelong for 4.4.15 RC:

    * Made flood fill distance for lightmaps 12 pixels, using black instead of green as unfilled pixel colour.
    * GPU: Fixed incorrect rendering or OpenCL errors when using texturing on a mesh with no UVs.
    * Fixed null blends not casting shadows with GPU rendering.
    * Fixed crash reading truncated igmesh file.
    * CTRL+pgup now selects previous render channel, CTRL+pgdown selects next, CTRL+num selects render channel num.
    * When checking whether to wait for a floating or online licence, wait for a licence without any restrictions (including watermarking).
Fixes GUI not waiting when there was node licence that allows full res but applied watermarks.
    * Slave network rendering: Pause before getting an online license, in addition to floating licences.
    * Slave network rendering: Fixed OpenCL context, device / program building, fixes crash also.
    * Scattering: Assign an arbitrary UID so that objectId() will return something useful for scattered objects (and not just the invalid UID value).
    * Flipped baked lightmaps upside down from before, to be consistent with Indigo's and OpenGL's UV scheme.
    * Fixed camera orientation being wrong in OpenGL view and jumping on rotation when it has keyframes.
    * Increased possible UI range for camera tonemapping ISO and camera exposure value.
    * Added map_normals_to_zero_one render setting - maps normal render channels from [-1, 1] to [0, 1].
    * Added checkboxes for trace_through_trans_mats_for_channels and map_normals_to_zero_one in the channels tab in the render settings widget.
    * Added untonemapped_scale render setting, is a scale factor applied when saving out the untonemapped EXR.
    * Instead of giving an error when a model transorm is not invertible, print a warning instead.
    * Benchmark now stops rendering when finished.
    * Made "Starting threads..." message show number of thread accurately in GPU rendering case, changed to "Starting render threads".

    You lost me there :)
If you mean that you have no interest at all in the program, that's fine. Neither do I. I don't have any interest in this program and most others but I like what they can do.
If you mean my scene has nothing interesting in it, that's also fine and expected. I use ready-made scenes and there aren't many for C4D+Indigo that I can find.

They have? Damn. There goes another toy crack. Now I can't look that smart anymore :)
I'd say good for them but this has always been cracked by various people. Cracks, keygens, Amped RLM server...
But I can say good for you. You got at last the C4D part working. But no C4D render in all its glory? :(
You're skipping on the job :)

IndigoMax has changed its versioning scheme to align it with the main Indigo Render.
It's at v4.4.14 Beta as of now (regardless of what the render below shows -- they tend to forget things in betas..)

    Changelog:

    ActiveShade improvements.
    Progressive material preview rendering.
Fixed plugin not shutting down properly.
    Max 2021 support.
Discontinued Max 2013 and 2014 support.
Changed versioning to same as Indigo version.
    Updated SDK to 4.4.14

When you run the installer, the first page shows Max versions up to 2019.
Just click 'next' to go to the next page where it has 2020+2021. (I thought I had downloaded the wrong version and installed it twice. Great deductive reasoning on my part eh? :) ).

If, in its settings, you specify an output filename and uncheck 'Render', when you click the render button, it will start up the main Indigo Renderer with the same scene. This way you can use whichever of the two is easier on your system.

    Another unfinished render...

Nice teapot :) needs some spheres textured as translucent marbles with filling :)

I couldn't agree more, but that's as far as their getting-started page went :).
But even if they had the translucent marbles thrown in, I'd still wouldn't go through with it. I wait enough as is, for just the teapot to render...

Up to 4.4.17 now (there was an intervening 4.4.16 too).

    Changelog:

    4.4.17
    * Fixed issue with faceting with Fabric material while rendering on GPU.

    4.4.16
    * Fixed bug with hardware ID generation code which may have resulted in garbled hardware IDs for some CPUs.
    * Fixed error running ISL shaders on some Ryzen processors.
    * Updated bundled exporter/plugin versions.

The protection is the same as before and the plugins that need any sort of cracking, they don't. They remain at the same version so existing cracks still apply to them.

Unfinished render of course. OpenCL in an old 1GB card is a waste of one's precious time.

    ???
Other than the functionality they offer versus others, how do they differ from any other product?
Even releases are betas. Just make the best of whatever is there.

Somebody sent me a v5.0.0 but I don't see any references to it on their site.
Its changelog only goes up to 4.4.15.
Nevertheless is a proper installer. Executable is much bigger but that could be because of compiler/linker switches.

    So I installed it...
Same patches (at different offsets of course) and it still runs with my old NVidia card (including OpenCL mode) so I can't complain.
Additionally, it's compatible, as an external renderer, with their earlier plugin releases (circa v4.x).

1st pic, in standalone mode. 2nd one, called from C4D R23 Indigo plugin 4.4.13.1.
No R24 plugins yet and I haven't tried to see if the R23 plugin can be used with it.

Somebody asked if there's a problem with Indigo in IPR mode.
I never knew of any problems with it, but tried it to be sure.
No idea if it's some specific case or not, but it seems to work fine for me. I even used it along with its Realtime Preview.

What's of interest with the v4.4.13.1 for C4D R23 (maybe other versions too), it just runs under R24 without any modifications!!

    DooDooHead? :)
This must n0MAD's crack. He has a knack for picking cute names.

Even though you thanked the wrong person (and not by mistake), enjoy your fast renders.

I know who's fix it was, I figured you would claim mOMAD stole it from you... You know, copy cat claims... LOL

Who's going to copycat a sitting duck of a protection? He'd have to be completely clueless to stoop to doing that.
I can think of a few of them of course but n0MAD is not in this group. He can hold his own and it hasn't ever come to my attention that he copied anybody else's work.

Ah yes. It's n0MAD and not mOMAD. You sound like the people who call me "rocoon" or even "raccoon" sometimes :)
